Ex-Aprilia RRV450 rider Trystan Finocchiaro is set to makes his first world stage appearance this week in Germany for the 9th round of the World Superbike Championship at the Lausitzring.
After a strong, successful test with Bierreti Racing at Adria International Raceway the Italian team took a lot of interest into the tender talent. The 18 year old earnestly equaled the teams best ever lap around the circuit despite it being his first ever experience aboard the teams Yamaha R3, first ever visit to the circuit, and first ever time working with the team. Which only led to both Trystan and the team to question what they would be capable of with some more track time under their belts?
Team manager Franco Brunetti has given the Transmec Group backed rider the chance to answer this question by deciding to race the rest of the 2017 World Supersport 300 series with the British rider. Finocchiaro’s intentions are to then race a full season in the World Championship for the 2018 season.
The young talent said he is “extremely excited about a debut on the world stage” and feels “motivated to bring home some results”. However, with a wise head on young shoulders Finocchiaro looks at the bigger picture stating his intentions to “use these 4 races to learn and prepare for next season” where the Redditch based rider will launch a full attack on the World Championship.
