A step in the right direction for Finocchiaro

19 year old Trystan Finocchiaro enjoys what he describes as a “good step forward” at the TT Circuit Assen for the 2nd round of the World Supersport 300 championship.

The Scuderia Maranga Racing rider finished Sunday’s race in 25th position on a 40 rider grid after pipping his team mate, Nicola Settimo to the finish line in an enthralling last lap duel.

The weekend proved to be very positive for the Transmec Group backed racer as he pointed out that “similarly to Aragon, the team and I were able to find a good pace that I am very confident could have put us in a with some of the faster Yamahas fighting for the points.”

“Although we did improve parts of strategical approach there is still more we need to find, as although I am satisfied, our results do not reflect our pace. It will mainly come from being more aggressive and following the right group of riders to take me out of my comfort zone and bring back the results we deserve” Finocchiaro added.

Trystan and the team now look to the next round at the Italian circuit of Imola where Trystan is determined to bring his team a good result in their homeland.

In preparation, Scuderia Maranga will be testing at the Misano World Circuit just a few days before the race in Imola. Finocchiaro states that “into Imola we will be focused on getting on the back of the right riders, learn the track quickly and bring back some good results”.

“With the current situation, unfortunately the Kawasakis and KTMs are untouchable. But we will be focused on being the fastest Honda, mixing it with the faster Yamahas and hopefully scoring some points along the way”
