Oulton Park, Cheshire BTCC Rounds 13, 14 and 15

Rounds 13, 14 and 15 of the BTCC were held at the picturesque Oulton Park, Cheshire. And it was a hugely thought provoking weekend. Hopes were high, yet 19th on the grid didn’t match the expectation or ability of car or team. However, where challenge dictates there presents an opportunity. Starting from mid grid means Rob’s innate overtaking ability could shine. By close of Race 1, Rob finished 15th yet strides forward were made.

In race 2, fortune would not swing in Rob’s favour. At the tight Island hairpin on lap 1, the pack concertinaed up and the resulting collision forced early retirement.

Starting race 3 on the penultimate row of the grid, Rob was amongst the fastest cars out on track. The 16th place finish was scant reward for an inspirational drive.

Next stop is Croft on the BTCC jamboree on 19th June. A tight and twisty circuit on the calendar rewards the brave. Rob and Handy are definitely that.
